JTI set a goal of being the top tobacco company in the Asia Pacific region outside of Japan and China. But did they have the quality of leaders they needed?
Within Asia Pacific, JTI is focused on becoming the top international tobacco company in the Asia Pacific region outside of Japan and China. The vice president of HR recognized that to succeed, they required a strong leadership team to manage the growth as well as a pool of emerging leaders to support sustainability of the growth.
PDI Ninth House worked with JTI to develop a range of tools to support the leadership development and succession planning efforts. PDI Ninth House conducted a series of high impact development centers for the regional president and the 12 general managers and vice presidents reporting to him.
Over a three-year period, more than 200 leaders gained rich insights, feedback, and coaching to support their development, and provided JTI with data on the strength of their talent pools.
